Castaways Beach

Surfing and Beach Information

Castaways Beach is the next beach South of Sunrise Beach, 5.5km or 7 minutes driving time from Noosa Heads, Sunbus number 620 runs every 30 minutes and takes about 15 mins from Noosa. Walking will take you about and hour and 10. Clean white sand with a few favourite spots. This is definitely the stretch that if you explore you will get some uncrowded beach breaks. A short walk away from the main beach entrances will put you there. The long car park can produce nice rippy banks at the north end of the car park and to the south Castaways Creek fires up during rain events and can create a folding barel on high tide. The long car park has a bus stop, toilets and beach showers. A beautiful beach loved by families and dog’s can join the fun as well, a big bonus. There is a bike path all the way along this section with a classic spot to the south with a bench seat lookout on a grassy knoll. West wind is offshore, the banks can handle a slight north wind on high tide. This is a straight section of beach and max’s out at around 4-5ft. Still worth a look on bigger days but good waves at this size are not common. A great beach for walking the low tide.
